Last Life Drawing lesson... Tone.

We went to the park because the sun decided to come out for once, and we had to use tone to do our sketches.

To tell the truth, the first time using tone at the park ended pretty badly, so I won't be uploading a few sketches, mainly because what was meant to be a rock, turned out to be a random shape with different tones in. If people had actually seen these they would think that I had taken some shrooms and tried to draw my hallucinations. Not good.

So, I'm just uploading a 'recognisable' litter bin, a sphere, and a tonal chart. Enjoy...

After all the difficulty of trying to upload these files I managed to do it, courtesy of TinyPic, by uploading it to there and using the URL upload. Damn you, Blogger.

Lifting, pushing, turning, throwing.

No life model resulted in our lecturer and friends being used to sketch from.

Storyboarding.

We looked at the script of some film named Oliver Twist and sketched a storyboard of how we thought it would look like.

For our homework, we were asked to do a storyboard of a scene out of a favourite film. Obviously, I had to choose Pokémon, and chose Pokémon: The First Movie.

Perspectives.

Sketching our life model in one, two, and three point perspectives.

Yet again, my horrible scanner has become a problem, causing the scanned image to be really bright, making me alter the brightness and contrast to make it visible.

Note to self: Actually take note of the 'Note to self'.

A... caricature?

We were given small green sketchbooks to try and fill for the week after and were given the choice of staying at uni to do some life model sketches or go home. I done a sketch of our life model and then went about doing other work.

Green sketchbook:

We had the choice of doing 'journey' as a theme within the green sketchbook, so I chose to sketch what I did during the day.

Different styles.

By looking at different styles by different artists, we had to recreate their style through our sketches.

Tough to recreate, but fun to try.

Silhouettes.

Unable to scan due to size of sheets and almost impossible to photograph due to the sheet curling, but I managed it. Use of ink to create silhouettes. Based off people's walk cycles they wanted to do for their Animation Essentials module.

Overall verdict: I like turtles.
